Fall is right around the corner, and here at Jellystone Park™ Glen Ellis, we are ready for it! From cooler temperatures to cozy sweaters, the fall season has a little something for everyone. But, how can we forget the breathtaking fall foliage that will surround our New Hampshire camping resort?! We've gathered everything you need to know about fall camping this season - including when the colors will be in peak, recommendations on the best spots to view the foliage, as well as fall activities & events you won't want to miss at our campground.
New Hampshire Fall Foliage Prediction Map
Although nobody truly knows when the exact dates of peak fall foliage will be, we can assume that peak colors will hit the North Conway area in mid October, around October 9-16, 2024. Mid October is the perfect time to continue your family's annual Halloween traditions in the crisp, autumn temperatures. For a more detailed view of the Pennsylvania fall foliage map, you can check it out on the Almanac or American Forests websites.
Plus, this time range lines right up with our camper-favorite event: our Halloween Weekends! We still have a variety of luxury cabin rentals and campsites available during this weekend. If you're a glamper at heart, our best value cabin option is our Black Bear Escape Cabin. Equipped with a full bathroom, kitchenette, dining table and accommodations that sleep up to 7 people, this New Hampshire cabin type is the ultimate choice. For our fellow RVers, our best value campsite option is our Riverfront Premium RV Site! Book this site while fall camping and enjoy full water/electric hook-ups, a picnic table, fire ring, and charcoal grill. But don't wait to book your site - we tend to sell out!
Nearby Areas for the Best Fall Foliage
As many of our campers, know, our New Hampshire campground offers gorgeous views of the fall foliage, but it's also important to explore the surrounding areas for even more photo opportunities! We roped together a few places we recommend for scenic views of the fall colors below:
Kancamangus Highway
Embarking on a scenic drive along the Kancamagus Highway during your fall camping trip is an unforgettable way to experience New Hampshires fall foliage. As you cruise along this 34 mile stretch along the winding road, you'll encounter stunning overlooks like the Sugar Hill Scenic Vista and Rocky Gorge. You regret taking this drive.
Pinkham Notch Loop
One of the best ways to view New Hampshire's fall foliage is taking a hike through the Pinkham Notch Loop. Nestled in the White Mountains this trail provides a front row seat to watching the leaves change. You won't want to miss this opportunity on your fall camping adventure!
Lake Winnipesaukee Loop
Visit New Hampshire's largest lake and enjoy stunning fall foliage views across the water. There are many shops to explore along they way or fully immerse yourself in the nature loop. Viewing New Hampshire's fall foliage is a must - do on your fall camping trip.
